We can thank hurricane Joaquin, for creating walking conditions at Petit LeMans. In my mind, Joaquin sounds like “walking” so that’s why I said that. The images coming from Road Atlanta paint a very damp and very wet race track. Despite the rain, the racing has been spectacular.
The GTLM cars are the ones to be in, and the Porsches seem to enjoy the rain the best. A combination of high down force on the Porsches and the weight over the rear wheels are helping them dominate the field.
The rain was just too heavy to continue the race safely. Despite the heavy rain, there have not been many accidents, which is a very good thing in my opinion.
For now, this guy seems to have the right idea.
